Hello there guys am new to the site and is the best thing i did , did not know people would care much about our solaras ;) since is a rare car. anyways i need help this is my story , i have a 2003 solara 1.5 gen is my 1s car had it for about 2 years now i love the car and making improvements my car underwent a engine swap it currently has a 2005 camry sedan engine in it since ma gasket on he original blew :( , thus i have come so far tuning it and making it look nice engine has minor upgrades bu now have came across tranny problems it was hard to accept the fact that the tranny was going but these are the symptoms car slips and sometimes bangs from going from 2nd to 3rd gear at about 20 - 25mph only on dat gear ,does it more aggresive wen car is cold or 1st turned on i checked fluid it looks good am fustrated with the fact ma car just came from a swap about 2 months ago and now the tranny giving up on me. :bad-words: i am considering to swap the tranny to a 5 speed since a auto,automatic aint for me -_- i like to speed alot and kick civics/accords but so i was wondering if any of you guys would give me pointers on wat i need,should do or know about this swap and have any of you guys have done a succesful tranny swap :). 2.4 i4 vvt-i 2az-fe. sell the car and get a 5 speed. thats your easy solution. converting an auto to manual is very expensive and a huge project. you have to run the shift cables, install the clutch pedal, master cylinder, clutch lines.

If you had a V6 auto, your go to guy would be trdgreg to do the swap but since you're a 4 banger, I would suggest the same as the guy above, sell your car and buy a V6 5 manual which will have more aftermarket performance parts. Good luck.

I mean every 1 keep advicing me to get a different car but am too attached to it :/ and yea it sucks that is a 4cyl there's barely any parts and can't even mod much on da engine since the trottle body electric is so sensitive :/ my mecanic would do it for cheap but I wanted to speak to some 1 dat has done it successfully to give ke tips and heads up on Wat his up against he not messing with no 94 civic dat u can take apart with a butter knife lol

What's up with the strut bar? You should've took it off to paint it haha.

Tell me how the swap goes. I wouldnt say it's worth it with a 4 but it's up to you.
