i'm sorry, but i'm just not really good at all this upgrade information, and now i feel like a dumba$$

what do the numbers that go with rim and wheels mean?
for example
"Wheel & Tire Package Price comes with 205-40-17 tires. Eagle 193 wheels are 4x100 4x114.3"

205 = width
40 = height from rim (as a percentage of the width)
17 = rim size (17" in this case)
an "R" before the rim size indicates "Radial" tires, which most are!
a "P" before the width indicates "Passenger" tire (ooposed to truck tires)

eagle 193 = wheel model
4 = lug pattern (4 lug/5 lug)
100 or 114.3 = hub offset (with zero being the hub equal to the lip of the rim)

there should be a website that describes all this, just can't seem to find it now!

The 114.3 means the distance between the lugs from top to bottom.

very good moderators....the only thing you might wanna look out for..is "plus sizing" correctly...meaning when you get 17's for example that your tire size is the same...as the stock size....so your gauges and stuff are still right...uh...can someone else clarify it...the plus sziing....

No, he's talking about the diameter of the wheel/tire. If you started with a 16" wheel and tire setup with 60s(?), look at the second number that DavPak mentions (hight from rim =40). That number is smaller to keep an overall same diameter of the tire as you increase the wheel size to say 18". Since the wheel is now larger, you need a smaller hight tire to keep the overall diameter the same. I'm not sure of the exact numbers but you should get the concept. If the diameter of the wheel changes, your speedometer and odometer will be off. -JoeB

yea....the overall diameter...all i know is that my car came with 205/60r 16's i think the re92's....to plus size it one more you would need to get 215 55r 16 basically getting a wider tire and the height (profile) of the tire lower....i think when you go up to 17 th eproper size is 215 or 225 55/50 to have the right size....something like that.....you dont have to follow that..but you probably should...

go to whalentire.com put in your car model and it will give you stock size and plus size options. it will tell you how much your speedo will be inaccurate and all that stuff.

you can also go to 1010tires.com and again input your car details to get stock sizes and plus sizes. this site doesnt have the details tho.
