climate control questions

hey i have a simple question do the 2000 solaras climate controls have lights because it gets really dark in my car and i can hardly see the controls at night and do it have a bulb in the ashtray ? thanks

They should. Do you have the manual controls or the automatic ones? By manual I mean the ones with the red and blue for the temp. I have the auto controls and the whole thing lights up. No light in the ashtray but there should be a light for the ring around the plug next to the ashtray. If it isn't lighting up, try twisting the knob on the left side of the steering wheel above the little pop out tray. It should be behind the light lever on the steering column. If that doesn't work, its either the bulbs are burnt out or the fuses are blown. I may be wrong but that's what I think.

yea i have manual ones and the dimmer is always up the red and blue do not light up at night so don't the rest on the climate controls any chance you know where the fuse is ? is it in the coin holder under "HEAT" ?

Might just be a bulb, if it were the fuse all the lights would be out on the hvac controls. And yes the ashtray should have a bulb. It's common they burn out

Bostonlara is right. Time to pull that sucker off and replace some bulbs! I didn't know the ashtray has a light. Where is the bulb located? I always thought it didn't. Must be because mine burnt out a long time ago.
