New wipers?

New wipers?

Postby Jon11582 » Sat Dec 06, 2003 11:31 am

Well we just got piled on with a lot of snow here. I'm finding out I need to change a couple parts of my car after 3 years. First was tires, since I get pretty much no grip on snow anymore, but my wipers are getting pretty weak too. Are there any suggestions for wipers/wiperblades? As in what brand/type? I'm not sure which it is, but theres this large patch directly in my line-of-sight that the wipers dont wipe anymore. I guess I'll change the blades first, and then go on and get new wipers if that doesnt fix my problem. I just need some ideas of what to look for. Thanks.

I have triple-edge silicone wiper inserts. They work very well.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

yea i like winter for the case that you find out that you need some new parts. well i just replaced my wiper inserts three days ago. I bought them from Toyota for $4.00. they are having offers on some parts and care care products. On my previous car (camaro) nothing seemed to work but Chevy wipers, so I thought i'd go directly to Toyota this time.

If you're super cheap, you can easily recondition wiper blades. Use high-grit sandpaper (like 600) and wipe the blades down, then use Armor All and keep wiping them until the rag comes clean.

Hey, it rains like 4 times a year here. It irritates me buying blades every time it does because the blades have dried out.
