TRD Strut Bar vs. Stock Strut Bar

TRD Strut Bar vs. Stock Strut Bar

8)
#1. Is there really a difference in the aftermarket TRD bar vs. the one that came with the Solara? Is it really that much stiffer to make a difference?

#2. Does the Solara not already have a stock RSB?

Please advice with your expertise.

Thanks,

Louis

The solara has a stock RSB but it's small in diameter (17mm i think). The TRD RSB is thicker (22 or 24mm i forgot). If u haven't lowered ur car yet and put the trd bar on, then u'll feel a BIG difference.

On the subject u put FSB, did u mean RSB?

i am not sure if you are asking front strut bar or front sway bar. the strut bar serve all the same function, and there is no TRD front sway bar aviliable yet.

Yeah the strut bar is what I am referring to. Is there really a difference between the stock one and the TRD one? .

I see that the Rear Stabilizer Bar is worth getting; however, in regards to the strut bar is it worth replacing it with the TRD one? I said FSB in the subject as Front strut bar but I guess there is no such acronym  Sorry for the confusion.

I am 90% sure that there isent a difference between the trd and stock strut bars , the only difference is that the trd is made a little higher to go over the supercharger.

Essentially thats the main purpose of the TRD front strut tower brace, the stock one is fine

The TRD is taller to fit the SC and looks a little better. Thats it

The stock one is smaller than 17mm.

The TRD RSB is 19mm or 21mm depending if its on street or track

Ok, could someone clear this up for me.

Apparently if you haven't changed the suspension on your solara and upgrade the RSB then you'll feel a great increase? I read Flipside's post on someone else's post concerning the TRD RSB and stock suspension where he said thought that upgrading the RSB on stock was not worth it. Anyone got an answer or more opinions to offer? Thanks.

you have got to feel at least some improvement. just not the full on effect or limits of the RSB can handle if you had a modified suspension.

The stock suspension is so soft that it gives the car a lot of body roll. An aftermarket RSB will really help with that, and in addition will reduce some of the understeer that is so prevalent in our cars. If you're really interested in improving the overall handling of your car, upgrading the springs and struts would be a great idea, too.
