Please help me choose (JIC FLT-A2 / Tein SS)

Can anyone give me some good or experience advices on which one of these I should get?
(dis-regard the price)

JIC FLT-A2 (15 wys adj / $1,500) or Tein SS (16 wys adj / $1,150)

I heard that Tein has a U.S. base shop on west coast but JIC doesn't. So it will be costly for JIC parts when it comes to repair or rebuild. For Tein SS, damper adjustment are on top. Unlike JIC FLT-A2, damper adjustment can be adjust from the bottom. So at least I don't have to worry about take the interior panels apart or drill holes on the panel for future adjusment. Plus, I'm a gentle driver and (knock on woods) how often do shocks blown or gets severe damage anyway, right?

you don't need the FLT-A2 unless you want brag rights or want complete overkill.

in order to actually enjoy the FLT-A2's you need to tune them, which took me 14hrs total time. did it myself.

however, the good part about the flt is that it's impossible to bottom out.

i've had these in my ride for a long time now, and have had no problems on wear and tear.

my opinion? if you want both YOU CAN! :P lol j/p but check out the JIC FLT-A1US. Its everything that the A2 is and a slight combination of the Tein. (adjustment on top.) Peter can get you the set for 1150 flat. 5 way adjustable and adjustments similar to the A2. Best compromise in my opinion.

TRDMole177, hmm... just curious, why do you think its impossible to bottom out?

CASTRO, thanks for your suggestions. But the thing I don't like about JIC FLT-A1 is the damper adjustment is on top. It's quite difficult for the rear sets to have any kind of future adjustments.

not really... first guy that i know who got em was peter and he just drilled a really small hole... (about 1-2mm) enough for the small hex adjuster tool to fit through the rear dash. My camry is a bit of a problem since my seatbelt mounts are blocking the adjuster. I just take out the arm/shoulder supports and gain access. The solara should be easier since a direct hole from the top should gain you access to the top adjusters. its hard to explain, if i had a digicam i'd take a pic.

there is a hole in the strut's housing on the bottom. thus having an impossibility to "bottom out" with the FLT's.

where as tokico struts for ie. it's capped on the bottom of the strut housing, so then if you go low enough, you can cause a bottom out by having the strut's shaft hit the bottom of the bracket.

Which ones can have the tires bag more and still have good camber? That is the question.

bag more? zuh?

The rear camber is straight. The fronts butterfly slightly, but I think it looks cool =D

Sounds like a good vote for Teins, from both xravexboix and rudy. I really want a unit that is the easiest, as easy as it can get as far as coilovers go, to adjust and to last for a very long time and work very well with the car. I dont have time to twiddle with it forever. But I want to bag every once in a while.

So can I get an affirmative on the Tein SS? and remember they got no pillowball mounts (but does it matter?).... :(

I'm using the stock strut mounts and no problems so far (except some squeeking noise when it's really cold... but it goes away after some driving... i think it's because of the mounts. I'm not sure about it though.)

The rear camber is straight while the front is slightly butterflied, but not to an extreme extent

Thank you for the reply. Is the front butterfly fixable or just the way it is? Doesnt that make tires wear unevenly... The Teins comfort is what is making them look more appealing to me cuz i hear the JIC are a rough ride even on softest setting. I'm just street ridin these things with my chrome rims, and want comfort but being able to go a lil low too. Are pillowball mounts from say the JIC or other source able to be put on? I know the pillowball mount is something that is SPECIFICALLY designed to the car, but is it specifically designed for the coilover/strut in use too?

Is 1230 a good price? I found a possible price at another place to be 1120.
