That reminded me of the Civic I saw at a chessy car show where he had to cut the wiring harness to the door so his Lambo doors would work. Then he twist and tapped longer wires inline to make it reach.

Yikes...

Too much work for something that doesn't help your car...and a bitch to explain to a dealer during warranty work or resale... 8) but impractible.

But, why? :-? Those doors belong on 'supercars'. It looks like you still have to 'squeeze' in just to get in the car.

I think those doors are coo. If your into the show scene, and you want to make your car look different, then thats the way to go i guess. Personally, I wouldn't get them b/c I drive my car everyday. Thats just my two cents.

why should they put a 225hp engine in when 200hp was suffice???? its because people want more.

you see every car with normal opening doors, but its not often you see them with VERTICAL doors.

id love to see a 4door kit where the rear ones suicide and go up as well. would be a biatch but hey it would look pretty cool.

to each his own, your tastes may not be the same as mine.

you know i find something very funny about this thread...it just wont work! haha...sorry to burst a few bubbles, but ive already tried this...our fenders are way to rounded for this to be able to work...the only possible way for this to work is to shave our fenders down to a flat surface like civics...sorry. LOL

those lambo doors suck, i saw a video on a website of how they open and close, very impracticle. you have to open it regular a little and then it goes up. Plus its hard to get in and looks realy dumb. They guy also had to be careful with them, he couldnt just open and close the doors

You can get out of the car without worrying how far the doors swing out.

But remember, these kits aren't nothing like the real vertical doors. They still don't open up like the real ones do.

YOU GUYS MISSED THE POINT.

yes its impractical, yes its ugly to some, yes it doesnt function well.

to some people, they want to be different. go to a solara meet and be the only one with the vert door conversion, i bet all of you would be asking about it. it is possible there is a kit in the works for the camry, which could be modded for the solara. why dump money into a bodykit or a new paint job 1 year after you bought a car??? seeing the point now???

TO EACH HIS OWN.

as for the 225 hp comment.

did you really think they just did it because they could??? the only reason the created the 3mz was to compete with the vq35 or c30 series engine. otherwise they (being toyota) would have stuck with the 1mz. toyota is well known for milking something for everything its got. why do you think they didnt upgrade the motor until 04??? people are power hungry. if toyota was not losing sales to honda and nissan for their more powerful engines, they would have stuck with the 1mz for even longer.
