well you can try this at home on your beaters, but dont try on it your solara

i just here to share my another pix with you guys "homemade 1-day paint job", inspired from option magazine

This is how the rear look before i paint it. old and fadding
Image

I first used paint thinner to wash off the paint, dirt, and oils. Then i use d#400 sand paper to send the old paint off (not really, but made it rough surface). After that, i used spray on primer and primed the bumper

In the process, i sand it and spray primer on

I used #400 again, i was experiencing the effect on the license plate area. Then i spray the "Bodyshop paint" import Black form pepboys. i found it is thin and some overspray. So i wait till next day i went to pepsboys picked up another can and clear coat. I use #800 to polish it and get rid off over spray part. Now they looked kinda even. Then i spray paint it over and over again. i used #2000 to polish it, it gets very smooth. i spray the clear coat, and used #2000 to polish again. Then i waxed it.

I want to make sure the paint is thick, so i used two cans of spray paint

Let's see the finished product. Show us some after shots. I'm very interested in seeing how this turns out. Does it match the rest of your car?
