I just found this link, it says it's for a 97-99 Maxima, but there's nothing car specific when it comes to LED's. They look quite similar to the Solara's too. This is definitely my next mod, I have all the materials!

Think I'm gonna do that when I get off work at 7am. I'm gonna try a 2 tone effect with red and white. I think the pain in the donkeyass is gonna be sanding the back of the needles
Sleep is overrated anyway :drinking:

At night looks best.
But i need to get white 194 LED so i can get rid of the yellow odometer thingy.
The night pictures don't do justice, you would have to see them in person they light up nice red like the guages.

Will have to post up a tutorial on how to re-wire the reverse glow gauges to light up blue only, cause that what i did. :D
So i don't have to have another switch or dimmer. :D

194s

Postby JMSinMaryland » Wed Dec 14, 2005 8:59 am

SleeperSolara,
If you get red or blue 194s and replace all of the bulbs behind, I believe you'll have 6 on an Auto Trans you can have the odometer glow red. I have done this myself. I personally think red would show the numbers off better than blue. Jon.

Sleeper, are your needles colored at all? They do seem kinda reddish.
I'm dead friggin tired now, just got home from work. Tonight is my last night of work for a week so I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to do this, I need some sleep. :(

I have red 194's behind my reverse glow gauges. I even replaced the #74's behind the PRND2L and the turn signals.

However, i forgot to do the cruise control, the only indicator that still lights up green in my car! Doh!

Ya, I've fukked up my old 300zx cluster too. This is damn near the preciseness needed for doing surgery. Definitely not for the coffee drinkers!
