Bringing this thread back from the dead...

and no need to sand them

I'm curious as to why to use flat black instead of glossy?
Also why not sand, wouldn't the paint stick better that way?

I've been planning and prepping all week so I can paint this weekend. Any other tips anybody can provide will be helpfull.

my tips:

the silicone removal is gonna get messy, start early and take a break in between, you dont wanna bun out and then get sloppy. whats out for the silicone (think VENOM) lol
just use high temp spray...i used flat black..i belive the glossy doesnt handle heat well and YES DO SAND THE CHROME OFF BEFORE SPRAYING, do it right because taking the headlights off i is a pain , so get it done the 1st time..good luck.

^^^Thanks man!
I kinda put the headlamp blackout on the back burner when I got my bonus. I finished the rest of my front end rebuild. I still plan on doing it, but not sure when.

LatinUSMC- I have a set of clear corners. Would you be able to black'em out for me??? How much would you charge me???

nope, those clear corners are sealed shut and the plastic is NOT flexible, it will crack with any attempt to separate..i would NOT recomend.

^Either re-buy some of those black ones you had, or black out some OEM corners.

DON'T DO IT.. I already tried it. The lenses arent simply glued on. They're SEALED on and heating them up in the oven doesnt do a thing. The clear plastic lens will break. Just buy them

A stated by others, trying to black out OEM corners is futile. Just purchase them here
