Back from the dealership...

Ok guys, I took my Solara to the shop today for a rattle in the rear package shelf, a squeak in the left front corner of the dash, and the chattering sunroof. I mentioned the transmission 1-2 shift issue, and they kinda blew it off, as expected. Anyways, they had the car almost eight hours when I picked it up. They said that they had fixed it all (minus the trans issue). They said that they removed and insulated the rear package shelf according to a TSB. It is now louder than it was before. I am thrilled. They said the front dash squeak was caused by a squeaking "speaker spike". Once again, they insulated it. Still squeaks. As far as the sunroof goes, they said they lubed the cables and track. It is better now, but I am skeptical because they greased it before for the same problem. I'll give it a few days and see if it is better. As for now, its off to the dealer, AGAIN.

Yeah, dealers only know how to lube things, not actually fix the problem. My mom's 4Runner has a problem with the driver's seat motor and all the dealer did is lube it. Problem has come back. My sunroof makes the same noise, the dealer lubed it, and the noise was back three hours later. Take the lube gun away from a mechanic and they wouldn't have a thing to do.
Moved on to better things...
