Picking up my car on 8/21..Need advise/input

Finally...My 05 absolute red/blk top convertible has arrived and I will taking ownership on Saturday:D !

I am asking for guidance/advise on what I should be looking for in regards to checking for defects, possible trouble areas, walk through etc with the dealer.

I would really appreciate any and all input on what you think are the key points I should focus on when doing my pre-acceptance inspection.

Thanks in advance!

in your case, most likely there are no defects.

you can check the odometer to see how many miles are on there.
check the hood to see if anything may leak.
anything under the car, see if there is any rust.
stains on the interior.
rock chips on the exterior.

there really should not be any of those in your new car.

Make sure you check the top for a defective tension cable. Quite a few of us have this problem. There's a thread called "Major Convertible Top Problem" that has a lot more info.

Otherwise, just make sure you have a full tank of gas. You might use it all on Saturday (if it doesn't rain.) I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine !!

I would definitely advise you to not get dealer prep. Meaning don't let them wash or wax your car, or detail the interior. Most often they only put more scratches and swirls in your paint. Congrats on your 05 Now is the time to time really invest some time into learning how to best care for your finish(washing, polishing, and waxing) Check out www.autopia.org
