2004 Solara Featured on "Speed" Channel

Last night I finally got around to watching "Motorweek" on the Speed channel. Among the cars they reviewed was a 2004 SE V6 Solara. They loved it! In fact, without coming right out and saying it, they basically said it was a better car and better buy than the Accord. Of course we all knew that, already! They got the Solara to do 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. Toyota says 0-60 is 7.0. They really pushed the car in the slalom and emergency turn tests. It was cool to see the car pushed like this. Their only issue with the car was the 0-60 braking. I don't recall the numbers, but it was a little longer than it should be.

By the way, they liked the styling, even the back end!

Was that necessary? I thought we already discussed not constantly stating your issues with the car. Stop beating a dead horse.

Fotodad, I saw that episode too, I wasn't really paying attention to the show but I heard them say Solara and I looked up right away to see what was goin on...lol but like fotodad said, they basically said it's better than the Accord coupe, but in not so many words.

Regarding which "a s s" is sexier: Your Solara has a nice rear-end, but that other rear-end is more beautiful than Niagra Falls, than a Hawaiian sunrise, than a beach in St. Thomas! I won't tell you what I do while I look at it!!

If that discussion occurred, I was not part of it. My apologies...I couldn't have known that you would take my opinions so poorly.

That was a very good review from Motorweek. Just like I've said since buying my car, it seems to take a long time to stop. Motorweek say's 134ft. 0-60 mph. Car&Driver (9/03) say's the Accord EX V-6 coupe stopped at 181ft. 0-70 mph. The stopping distance and the 2 different color bulbs on the instrument panel are my only complaints. I don't know why Toyota made the gauges blue and the radio & heater controls green. I think Volkswagon has the best looking instrument panel at night.

when car and driver tested the Solara they got 0-60 in 7.0 secs and the quarter in 15.12@92mph.

The Motorweek specs i hope are rounded off.

Seems like many of you haven't seen the episode. I'm not a computer expert, but I'll try to make my recorded version into an MPEG or Quicktime and either get it on this website or email it to those who want to see it. I'll let you know when I'm done.
