Driving a convertible in Toronto

I am about 90% sold on the new blue convertible, just want to know if anyone has one in a colder climate and how does it hold up as an all year car?

More concerned about warmth and the top itself? How do you wash it in winter?

I hear overall the soft tops are quite good, quiet and reliable for all year use, even where it snows. Would love to freak out some people and drive with the top down in the snow, probably not

Dunno about snow and below freezing weather, but I've driven in the low '50s with the seat heater on and heater/defroster blasting with the top down on the freeway - works just fine!

my sister used to have a saab 93 convertible, it was alsome man. too bad she traded in for a 540i. u will love the convertible. btw im from toronto too nice to see another SG from T.O

Hell, I'd like to drive through cold weather with the top down... If I HAD a drop-top . Then again, I usually open both windows and the sunroof to emulate it, so it's fun as long as you have the heater on towards the top vents, and if you're lucky enough to have heated seats, do that too.

As for washing it, it's not a big difference from a hardtop, except in excessively cold climates, there's a good chance it'll turn into ice, and/or exposing your hands to ice-cold water... Felt like I was very close to getting frostbitten at one time!

By the way, glad the size tags didn't take effect, but you don't need a Size 18 font to kick it!!! (In fact if anything, it might get you flamed... just a precaution).

i just got my ragtop in september so this is my 1st winter with a ragtop washing it is a pain because i normally do it by hand so i was looking rough for a while
