but at least he can get an idea of what to look at since he didn't have a clue

That is what I did with my old 1995 Honda Civic LX automatic with 160K odo, I looked up the KBB, and the value was way higher than what most people would pay for.

I think it all depends on who the OP is looking to sell it too--a private buyer or dealership. Private buyers are always looking for the car to be under KBB and not around KBB. The dealership ignores KBB suggested trade-in prices and deal with a book called the "black book" plus they heavily take into account their inventory and the present market. I would suggest researching how many other Gen 2.5 Solara are currently for sale within a 50 mile radius of yours to get a lock on the competition and an idea of price.

Thanks, it is much appreciated. She was a good woman, but she was so very sick, for 15 years. She is better off now. The rest of us.... Well we are just hanging on.

She was the strongest woman I ever knew. That was for sure. We all miss her, but we are also glad she is no longer sick. Cancer is a mean nasty thing to deal with.

It would seem the trade for the S60R has fallen thru, so I have the car listed on Ebay. If someone wants a good deal on a practically new Solara, my reserve is pretty low.

The car is just eating up space here. And I just need it gone.
