Rear Seat Window Controls?

Rear Seat Window Controls?

Postby online » Wed Aug 18, 2004 8:03 am

With only a few days left (delivery target date 08/20) )until my new 05 SLE absolute red/blk convertible arrives, I have a quick question. Do the rear seat passengers have their own window controls?(should have sat in back to check it out during the test drive). I can't see any in the photos I've been looking through.

Thanks in Advance

No, there is no Window Control in the rear seats for the rear windows, only button that will down/up the rear windows is the "ALL" button that is use when you close the top to close the windows.

Thanks erasat

Can you put down all the windows and then raise the fronts via the front controls on the door leaving the back windows down?

Thanks again

I haven't tried that yet. Let me see if I remember to do it later today, and post results later.

The answer is YES. Use the "Open All" button to get the rears to the position you desire, then use the front window controls on the driver door to manipulate the fronts. Took some getting used to! Unfortunately, both rear windows go down together, there's no way to control a single rear window.

Thanks to all that responded. Would be nice to have rear seat controllers but the alternative will work.

Another thing that bugs me about the rear seat is the lack of a courtesy light on the driver side rear seat. There's one on the passenger side - they assume that every rear passenger will get in and out on that side. What about people who want a reading light back there for long overnight road trips? Sheesh!

Thanks for the info on the light. Good thing I only have one son. That's the key reason why I went with a 4 seater convertible. I looked at the 93, c70 and a Mustang Cobra. You can't beat the Toyota for bang for the buck and the quality. The Cobra was fast but very poorly made.

Maybe they don't have a light behind the driver's seat due to distraction/glare at night for the driver.

hum, i dont' have convertable model, just regular SLE V6. i feel annoying that there is NOT ENOUGH of lights inside of car!! why toyota can't make more lights? i'm so jealous my bro's mercedes and my frnd's Audi. gosh, their cars' interior r shinny in the dark!! never get problem to find or read in their cars. i'm trying to figure the way to add entry/interior lights these days. i will post some update if i figure a way to do it.
