Today I calculated my Solara's gas milage after I filled her up.

It was a disappointing 25.8 mpg considering I drive it easy, I don't use AC, and I usually drive around the speed limit.

my god, you're like the world's safest driver! just teasing. i used to drive at the speed limit becuase that was my old car's limit, lol!

now, i do around 75-80mph on freeway so that's pretty fast. i always drive in S mode locally. i love passing other people.

I can save up to 40% more gas by driving sensibily.

I have to drive slow these days with the cops and especially in my neighborhood because speed bumps just got installed.

700 miles... you haven't driven enough to make any estimates on your mileage....

25 or so is not bad mileage for these cars, depending on your driving habits AND the nature of the roads and conditions you are driving in...

I drive very hard much of the time, but only in spurts, and most of my driving is on highway for substantial distances at a whop. When driving highway, I vary from 70 to 90 mph cruising rates... usually at a steady 80... and easy Top Dead Center read on the dial without looking...

This type of driving BEFORE TRD and CP-e stuff, net me around 27mpg consistently, with occassional 23mpg or lower if mixed with a lot more city driving.

AFTER the TRD and CP-e stuff, I suspect the car MAY be more efficient, but now I absolutely STOMP on it all the time (because it's just SO much more FUN now...) and my mileage is running closer to 22-23mpg over a tank of gas... obviously, I still "level out" during stretches of highway... (or my numbers would certainly DROP alot.)

Long story short... these cars are capable of doing fairly well from a mileage standpoint, considering their moderate performance and practical size.

...my thots...

for a Six cylinder those are good gas milage numbers. But I have the 4 cylinder model. I think people buy the 4 cylinder model to save gas but if its gas milage is similar to the V6 model, then what's the point of buying one in the first place?

I used to get about 300 miles to a tankfull, but now with my S/C I seem to get about 350 miles.
My commute has changed some and maybe i'm not on it as much as I was.

Note of caution:

The built-in mileage indicator is "CLOSE" at BEST... as a general rule, I have found it to be OPTIMISTIC...

Usually, it appears to INDICATE about 2mpg BETTER mileage than ACTUAL if calculated manually, top-off to top-off....

24.3 is good for around town.... I bet you are closer to 20-22 if you did the actual math...

I have a 2007 2.4L, and I have been getting about 32 mpg. A lot of highway miles, though.
