Tire pressure light disabled by going faster?... wtf

So I noticed that my light would come on "intermittently" while I was driving. Figured out that going past 55 mph made it go off. Dropping below makes it come back on. Any ideas? And I thought it might just be the temp of the air inside the tire but it did it while the car was cool and after it had been going for a bit.

well our car the tires are measured by unequal rotations and not by the pressure themselves
so check the pressure and make sure its correct
THEN
press and hold the reset button for the sensors until the light blinks 3 times
and then see if the problem happens agian

Ya I pressed the button. Keeps coming back. I'll go to the dealer again. Asked them to check it while I was in for maintenance anyway.

u made sure it blinked 3 times before u let go right?
because the light does go away after u press it for a second
u have to hold it for much longer

Mine has gone off plenty of times either for a reason or no reason at all but it has never turned itself off--I always had to reset it. Although I still say the "rotation method" is a crappy way to guage tire pressure, have the garage check to make sure it's not a fault in the system.

Remember that correct pressure is key. My tires look slightly underflated. You must have the pressure right on, not under or over.

Toyota's first generation TPMS used the ABS system to judge the difference in the tire pressure from other tires. The senor would sense the speed of each wheel. The slower, the less pressure. By accelerating, you fooled the TPMS system temporarily. Using Nitrogen will help prevent the fluctuation in pressure due to temperature. In the Air Force, Nitrogen was used on everything because of the stability and the size of the molecules.
