Gas gauge issue

Gas gauge issue

Postby Taido » Mon Nov 02, 2009 1:56 pm

My gauge's calibration must be wrong or something. Cause I filled up the other night but the gauge shows I'm at 3/4 of a tank. Any suggestions?

My experience tells me it is very full. Once you drive around and it starts to empty it will register full.

This seems to be normal in the Camry world.

How would I be able to check if it's the float? Cause I've driven around a bit and it just goes down.

One time I went to the gas station to fill up my car with 3/4 of gas remaining and the needle didn't go up afterwards when I started the car after filling up.

Funny thing is the car won't do that if I fill up the gas when the car only has 1/2 tank of gas or less remaining.

Okay I'm gonna try to just figure out how much gas I actually have in the tank, cause right now it's registering as empty when I filled it up just a few days ago. Also bumnping for anyone else that might have an idea.

I usually fill up before my gas gets even 3/4 left... and its never happened to me. must be an 04 problem

I've always used my trip odometer to measure distance per tank. It's been something I've done since I've had my car.

Every time I fill up, I reset the trip odometer just in case the float in the gas tank stops responding.

I know right. But I think the pulley install made it go crazy. Only reason I can think of. xD
