does anyones gen2 sound/feel like it wants to or going to fall apart after 100k? im close to 120k and i can tell the quality of the solara isnt the greatest.

constant squeeking and random noises in the dash, center console areas. i feel as if the ware and tear on solaras will make it fall apart quicker.

plus my tranny, not sure if its cause i havnt flushed it recently but it sticks every once in a while and lag issue still comes..

maybe im tired of the gen2? idk..just a little rant for now

My Gen II is only at 43,300+ miles right now and I don't see a quality change at all, too early for me maybe but I don't think it would matter whether its at 43K or 200K, I am extremely confident that my Solara will be moving just as good with good maintenance.

I'm only at 60k and it seems the same as it was new. We'll see how the next 60k miles go. I'm hoping it holds together nicely.

Im at 85 and it feels pretty good. Toyota just had to replace the steering shaft and a panel under my driver mat due to leaking. Any one else have this problem?

I'm at 88k, but I got a new transmission at 25k so it's a bit newer. No complaints here. I gave toyota such a hard time about the weird jerky shifting that happened on the original tranny that they gave me a new one. However, the same exact thing happens on the new one too. Weird, but it only does it once a day or so. Now that I've passed emissions, I will probably keep it another year or two then get a new ride. Can't really hear any rattling, even after all those miles with a decent stereo. The motor is rock solid, and I've used Mobil1 since day 1. All in all it drives like a relatively new car.

97k miles and not too many rattles, just the overhead console, and sunroof and mirror falling off once in a while.

not the cars fault but the subwoofer in the trunk. i also sound deadened everything too, so it just might be all held together from that.
Alpine + Dynaudio = Sonic bliss.

Oh ya, my mirror keeps falling off too, its now falling off for second time, im worried about overtightening and stripping it.

My sunglasses holder vibrates with subwoofers every once in a while too.

All this is par for the course, depending how many potholes and railroad tracks you hit over the life the car is directly related to how many squeaks, clangs and creaks you're gonna hear down the line.

At 90k miles meself, starting to get that faint rattle near the passenger side dash. Also, getting that little rattle on the suspension but I'm on the original struts and nothing has been tightened down there but the oil drain plug for the past 5 years. The transmission is it's usual self (I still say the mechanicals are right, it's the crap programming in the module). Unless I come into some money this car has gotta last me until it dies.

77777 this morning when I backed out of the garage and it's
still pretty tight to me. I'm getting a set of new Michelins
today, so it should be a lot better. Why Michelins? Because
so much will be riding on them. :D

100,555 miles and rattles everywhere (front, top, sunroof, passenger side window sounds like broken glass, etc)
gas mileage is down to 26 MPG avg (used to be in the high 28)
also have big problem with auto transmission lagging & stuck at 1st gear.

Whatever, you made a similar statement years ago with the 2 more years thing:

Posted: Thu Feb 19, 2004 12:22 pm Post subject: damn Toyota

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I called my local Toyota service manager and he told me my car had been fixed with this freaking TSB.

Well, guess what? It is still pulling to the left, DUH!

Two more years, I'll trade it in with a non-Toyota car.
And that is my final decision.
