Tire Sensor

Tire Sensor

Postby krenshaw » Thu Apr 15, 2010 3:44 am

Hey, just bought a stock used 17 inch mag. on ebay so I could have a full size spare and cycle it through my rotation,

I don't think it came with a Tire Sensor, but I was wondering,
Is is required to have the sensor?
And if it is not, Will I be able to reset the Low Pressure warning indicator, if there is not one in the wheel?

I don't feel like shelling out the money for one, it looks as if they are at least 70-120 dollars.

04-06 solaras (gen 2) do not have a tire pressure monitor
the car monitors differences in rotation speed to determine that

if you have an 07+ solara (gen 2.5) it does have a tire pressure monitor

so to answer ur question no
and yes

yeap gen2 didnt have a TPS , you can recheck your psi and fill accordingly and then the reset switch is on the left hand side by the hood release latch

Very interesting thanks for the info,
I didn't realize, there was not actually a place to put a sensor, and it was that differential type method, great news, plus i looked all around that wheel and couldn't find where it would go anyway.
