Tire Size

Postby pcscustom » Mon May 17, 2010 7:35 pm

I have the stock 17" wheels on my 06 SE sport. I have a set of tires in the garage that I had purchased to put on another car and never used. They are still brand new and hate to see them go to waste. They are 225/45/17's. Will those fit on the stock rims? Excuse my ignorance on this issue, but the tire sizing chart confuses the hell out of me. Also, if they do, will it throw the speedometer off?

?? The OEM size and what is currently on the car is 215/55-17. The extra and much newer tires that I have are 225/45/17's.

the 215/45 is the diameter of the sidewalls and how tall the sidewalls are.

Tires should fit, but it's way smaller than the stock tires.

When your speedo reads 60mph, your actual speed will be 56.9mph.
