My battery recently died too, sat in the front seat looking like an idiot for 20 minutes because I couldn't remember the presets I had before. I lost interest half-way through and just popped in Justin Bieber, Glee, Mahalia Jackson, Brad Paisley, Yanni and E-40 CDs.

you bet you'll need it cleaned or perhaps make sure that it is properly mounted in your car because vibration could affect the performance of you CD player. A little alignment problems with the lens will make trigger errors.
