Excellent pricing. Is this a 4-banger base? Like, no sunroof, or power windows, or 6disc changer? If so, I tried to tell my lil cus in Texas to get it, but her parents got her a Mazda6. I told her she could get an 04 Solara for round $19,000. She tells me that she hates me for getting her favorite car...LMAO...

Its 4 banger with power everything, cd player, spoiler... There is no sunroof(dont need it) or cd changer(plans for aftermarket cd player maybe)... It was sticker at almost $22k... Of all the other places I had been to(4 other dealers) noone would go under 19200... Oh yea AND got 2.9% for 5 years :)... BTW we were considering a Scion TC after researching I decided if I can get a Solara for a lil more Ill go for the Solara... TC is a nice car, but Solara is ALOT better ;)... Ill post some pics once it stops raining and I have a chance to Zaino :)...

Looking at a 2004 SE 4 cylinder Solara. Went online and found a dealer about an hour away from my home and gave me a price of 19,756.00 with a MSRP of 20,949.00. I think this is still too high. Do you think a counter offer of 18,500.00 is too much?

Thanks, Mitch

I got mine for 19k out the door, in this area they sell so easy that it's hard to get a good deal. :-? If they are wanting that much, dunno if they will settle for 18,500.

My new Solara

Postby dvdchris45 » Mon Jul 12, 2004 11:49 pm

What's up ppls, I'm new to this site and to forums so bare with me. I got my 04 Solara about a month and half ago from Power Toyota in Valencia, CA. We got lucky enought to score that car for $21,500 out the door, retail on it ran for $23,400 and thats not even couting the dealer fees, registration, and tax. It was one at that price. V-6, 17's, sunroof, and rear spoiler. So far I'm lovin the car and I got the tints done. I'll be postin some pics of it as soon as I get the damn pics developed and scanned.

I just ordered a 2004 Solara Convertible. First dealership would not bargain. I spent the next morning running numbers based on Dealer invoice sheet that the first dealer provided to me. I don't think he realized that the invoice included dealer hold back and finance reserve. Using these numbers I was able to negotiate with the 2nd dealer for 2K below MSRP or 4% above invoice. It takes time but it is time well spent. I live in the NE and you can't find convertibles on the lot. My Absolute Red/Black top w/dark stone interior should be arriving the end of August. According to the dealer, the 2005s will be arriving the end of August and with really no changes to the covertible.

The following is the spreadsheet that I put together to aide in my negotiations.

Factory Holdback (American Cars=3% Foreign Cars=2%) 2.0%

Took some looking also; but ended up paying $28,125 out the door for a $31.281 SLE Convertible. At signing they did try to get me for an extra $149.00 documentation fee, but after reminding them that the quoted price was OTD and getting up ready to walk out they kept their deal.

For good loan rates and fast easy service it is hard to beat Capital One, curent rate with good credit is 3.85% for 36 mo. All handled on line, check sent out overnight FedEx.

I picked up the SLE V6 Convertible a week ago. After going to a few different dealerships, they were all +/- $200 of the same sticker price. None of the dealerships wanted to play along and really negotiate and in the end I went with the dealership that some of my friends had used and had good luck with the service department. Sticker on it was $31.5 here including the Extra Mile stuff they threw in. It's about as fully loaded as I could get it. I guess they talk or something here in Houston. Anyway, the end result was me walking out with the car for $31.2 and that included the extended warranty and other crap they tacked on. I probably got midly raped there, but I love the car so I can deal.

Good Deal

Postby MJ » Wed Sep 08, 2004 12:10 pm

I think I got a pretty good deal. My sticker was (2004 SE Sport w/ moonroof) $23,532 and I paid 21,160.
My trade (2001 SE Solara) was blue book valued for a dealer trade at 9700.00 and they gave me 12,000. How do you rate my deal?

Sounds like a good deal to me. it almost sounds like they gave you the blue book private sale price! How many miles was on your 01 SE?

I got my solara back in april. I paid roughly $34K, msrp was around $39K. SLE V6 convertible, navi, letha and all. it still wasn't the best deal, but convertibles aren't cheap. 8) Plus, I'm very happy with my ride!!! I could've gotten something else, but this was the one i fell in love with.

HUH ?? There is no Solara with an MSRP of 39K. The top of the line SLE V6 convertible with the Nav is less than 33K (and that's if you add a bunch of port installed items.)

That was what was on the car. N.Hollywood Toyota. It was way more than 33K that was for sure! Plus, when I bought my car, convertibles just came out to the market. Show me where I can get one for 33K, with Navi, leather, alarm, exterior and interior sealant, early warning lojack, 100,000 mile warranty. I'd like to know. Plus, I had a lot of little things added on my car from the delear. Keep in mind that convertibles are an extra $7 to $10K compared to Coupes and that is the price range for most cars. i.e. nissan 350Z, BMW 325ci....
