New 2004 and UP solara owners... what did you pay?

Postby slingshot » Sat Oct 18, 2003 6:10 pm

I have three years from now to decide if I want the extended warranty and if not I can get all my money back. I can also quit the extended warranty at any time afterward and get the remaining money ($275/yr) back.

DavPak wrote:sorry to burst your bubble, but with what you paid the for warranty, you got just an average price on the car.

I just looked at Kelley blue book's website (kbb.com). The SLE V6 with stability/traction control, curtain airbags, spoiler, and destination is about $27,560K MSRP. Invoice price is $24,811. Your price is about $900 below Invoice and sounds very hard to get. How did you get that price?

I was lucky

Postby Ikhandi » Sat Apr 10, 2004 3:03 pm

All I can say is that I am very lucky. I was having a bad experience with another dealer who was trying to screw me six ways from Sunday. This new dealer was aware of the problems I had experienced with the other dealership and was more than generous and wanted to make sure I was happy. I got a great deal and and more than happy with that price, because I see others paid considerably more! Let me just say that they aksed for 24,500. I haggled them down to 23,919. That price includes the 750 rebate toyota has going on now.

Okay, didn't know at all about the rebate. When did it come out? That explains your price (now it's just a little under invoice).

i just bought a 04 SE on friday for 21,500 at 3.9%. sticker price was 22,995. my dad is a car dealer for toyota and we went to different dealer and he talked them down to 21,500. i got it at ivoice price. holdback is how much toyota will give the dealership for selling it for them. they do not like to get into their holdback because that is how the dealership makes its money. the salesman gets a flat fee per car plus whatever extra he can tack onto the the sticker

I originally had planned to get the SLE 4 cylinder which two dealerships agreed to sell to me for 22,500. I decided to go with the 6 cylinder because I felt I would want the extra power. Glad I did.

Sticker on mine was $21,880. We saw an ad in the paper for the '04 SE for $16,999. Went to the dealership and got an '04 SE, Moon Roof, 4 cylinder.

Talked them down to $16,995 after they said they could never get the $16,999 and i walked out. Floor mats came with it as well as the first aid kit and spoiler. They called me back before i made it to the first corner in the road to give me the price i wanted.

I love my car and think i got a great deal. :)

i paid just under 21,000 for my i4 w/ manual with a few extras.

i wish that the V6 had a stick option and not the auto with manual mode.
