I got my '04 Lunar Mist SLE preowned, with 18,000 miles it was stickered for 24k, after a little talking, I droveaway for little over 19k, not bad for a loaded up V6 SLE with graphite leather, JBL, and 26 mpg with the 3.3L v6 :P Like a lot of folks I was a little baffled by its new duds, but it totally grew on me. I live here in Milwaukee and am shocked by the reaction I get when people ask me what kind of car it is, or the thumbs up on the Lunar mist. In the 5 months I had it, I have seen only 2 others the same color.

2005 Solara SE Sport V6 with relatively selective options. 5 speed auto stick with sunroof and graphite but no leather or electronic temperature control. It comes with the projection headlights but not power seats. It's actually everything I wanted because I never move my seats, the a/c is always on full and leather sucks in the desert.

Anyways, with tax and financing I paid 25888. That's my payment x 48months with no trade. I really couldn't give a crap less what the "invoice" was. Always buy from a fleet salesman, and bring an interest calculator to find hidden fees when the monthly doesn't add up. saved me $500 in destination charges that they never told me about.

hey guys.. wow..... I think I got an awesome deal.. the asking price on my 05 SE V6 sport was $27,999. I got it for $21,000 .. and that was before my trade... with my trade it came out to be $18,000 OTD. It had 2 miles on it when I test drove it and 6 when I drove it off the lot.. and it is loaded... the only thing I dont have is a sunroof.. which I don't really need... I live in Mobile AL... its not a big metropolis or anything.. hell its ALABAMA!!!! Its Luner Mist Metallic, I got the 6 disc changer.. satelite radio.. OBX pedals... leather.. carbon fiber accents... race seats.. sport suspension..17" rims.. Toyo tires... power/cruise...carpet floor mats..carpet trunk liner.. side air bag... even that Toyoguard (could do without)... it doesnt have power seats.. but I am the only one who drives it... otherwise it has everything I wanted... by the time I add the stuff I want it will be worth more than what I paid for it...

Specs:

2006 Solara SE Sport
ground effects
sunroof

the car stickered for about $22000
My trade was $3000
the loan was $3900 (tipped by $900)

I put $100 down and financed the rest (tax, title, fees)
I got the $2000 extended warrenty
and got the car below $18000
and ended up financing under $21000

the dealer didn't make much money, my buddy was the salesman and he looked up the deal, I guess they were desperate

If all goes according to plan I'll have my 06 SLE convertible in three weeks - see my introduction in the intro section. My final price is going to be just a shade under $30k - most dealers are asking upwards of $32k here in Portland - IF you can find one.

I CAN'T WAIT!

You've probably seen my 2004 lunar mist SLE v6. I live in Madison and work near Sheboygan during the week. Usually my car sits near sheboygan and I drive a company vehicle home, but it does make it through Milwaukee quite a bit. I do agree though, I hardly see any other 04+ Solara's out there, and have only seen 1 other lunar mist sle v6 rolling around.

NooB Just bought 06 Solara

Postby joebxr » Sun Jul 31, 2005 2:06 pm

I've been lurking for a bit thinking about buying a Solara, and the info on this board convined me to make the plunge.

Just inked the deal yesterday on '06 Arctic Frost SLE V6 Coupe with Stability Control, Side Curtains, Spoiler and Floor Mats. With destination and add for color, MSRP was $28,451. My trade per KBB was worth $13,900. Final deal was $15,551 for my trade and $26,451 for the Solara...I thought that was a fair deal.

Now I need to save lotsa money for accessorries and upgrades to make it mine! Sirius upgrade is first to do.

Price On Used 04 Solara

Postby red2002solara » Fri Aug 12, 2005 11:49 am

A dealer is advertising a used 2004 Solara SE V6, red color, with 10, 065 miles for $16,995. The car has side airbags and automatic lights as options. Is this a good deal? I was thinking of offering to pay that price outright, they would eat the taxes (lisence fees not applicable, as in the state the lisence plate goes with the owner, not the car.) That would bring the actual price to $15,600. Or do you think I could go lower? What do you think on a car that's considered two years old? Appreciate your inputs.

And I checked the history of the car, only one owner.

sounds good.. if you think you can get the price lower I would haggle. as long as you know the history and they took care of it..the deals sounds good. its all about what you want to pay.. for a car that is technically two years old just over 10,000 miles isnt bad. hell my car is almost a year old and it has 6000 miles on it.

'06 Solara SE
pretty much base but with sunroof and spoiler

paid 19,000 out the door which works out to just under 18,000 for the actual car. Considering the fact that the dealer ordered the car for me and it came with 3 miles on it, I think I got a decent deal. Agree?
