Let's talk about when to do the first oil change. After the first, how many miles do you intend to drive between oil changes? The recommended by Toyota number of 5,000 miles or less?

My $.02

Get it done after 1000 miles and then change it every 3k

Oil is cheaper than metal. There is no harm in changing oil too much

1st oil change will be at 3K, can't wait. Mobil 1 10W-30 from there on out with a Purolator PureOne filter. Right now Purolator doesn't list a p/n for the 3.3L V-6 but I was looking at a '03 catalog. This engine is in other Toyota vehicles so it should be out soon.

My dealer wrote 1000 miles before the first oil change; that's what I stuck with.
