I am currently looking at the 04 model SE V6.

I was just curious as to whether or not you guys/gals have pushed the car at any point. Have any of you floored it? did it just spin? have any of you been WOT for quite a few seconds?

What is your opinion of the stock JBL sound system?

Thanks,
Paul

I haven't pushed the car, but I am quite impressed with the stock JBL system. Kicks the sh!t out of any Bose system! But sound quality is extremely subjective. I strongly suggest you take your favorite CD to a dealership and listen for yourself!

Breakin it in nice and easy, so it hasn't been floored.

The JBL stereo/6 disc in dash changer is just ok in my opinion. I wasn't going to go aftermarket no matter what, so I paid no attention to the stereo when test driving.

I wasn't expecting Alpine type clarity, but I was disappointed with the sound. The front speakers especially don't handle bass well at all, and the treble range is insufficient IMO.

I was foolishly expecting for some reason to find something more than a simple fade function to control the front/rear distribution...

1,000 miles breakin period. Keep below 4000 rpm and vary rpm's all the time. Don't use cruise control. No sudden hard stops. No hard acceleration.
