looking into buying a supercharger for a 1MZFE v6 engine

Postby stringbean » Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:18 pm

As said im entering the market for a supercharger for my 1994 toyota camry V6 1MZFE engine, preferably one capable of 5 to 7 psi. Not sure on price cause im just looking around but if a reasonable offer comes up id probably seriously consider it, but i am trying to pay my way through college so it may be hard....

All of the TRD S/C can push 7 psi, the most i've seen is 11 psi.
It's all about the pulley size.

The S/Cer's are becoming harder and harder to find with low miles so good luck, and yeah...looking anywhere from 2000-3000 dollars for a good one. By the way, not entirely sure...but be careful with the 1994 1MZ as they are the picky ones, the ECU is very difficult to please and much different than the later gens. I'm sure king will chime in sooner or later so correct me if I'm wrong.

The 2" pulley on my old old solara hit 13psi but after i ported it the lower intake and s/c it went back down to 10psi which is what the pulley was rated at.

Thanks for all the replys, but I'm also looking into a build your own ecu, for like 700 it sounds good, my cousin who's big into cars and computers and software development did one for his older Buick! It halls ass and burns rubber, he said if I was to buy it he'd map it for me, do you think a custom ecu would work good with the supercharger? And the rest of the car?

I think the unported lower manifold was causing a restriction since it wasnt gasket matched to my orted heads, after the porting the car felt more powerful but boost was read lower.

imo if this is the case, waiting for gabe's m90 setup would be a wiser choice for him.. wouldnt you say?
