I was told by my local Toyota/Scion dealer (by the service manager, and mechanic) that it would fit.

Nope... I was dressed in less clothes than my friend who lives there about 50% of the time (other half in Chicago)

I just wore jeans, t-shirt and just a regular hollister jacket (same thickness as a hoodie, but i had it unzipped)

It has to be modified to fit. For $3K plus $$$ to modify its not worth it.
Your better off adding a turbo instead.

Talk to i20solara02i about it.

something is on the opposite side or something
so u would need some customization/fabrication

costwise ull get more bang for buck on a custom turbo

Yep, I'm in Appleton.

As a turbo wise how much boost could you run and be safe on the stock motor

Check out Tacti3's ride, I think his 2004 Toyota Solara 2.4L turbo is set at 8 PSI and he has stock internals from what I seen in his car's pics.
