Hey guys,

Just finished doing my compression check and sad to say im seeing basically the same results as Joe. On the front bank, from left to right I read 150, 135 and 190. So basically, two pistons severely hurting, and thats just on the front bank.

Gonna call Arrieta soon and see about getting some stuff made.

So that makes 3 automatics in a row with engine problems. I really wonder if the way the AT shifts could have any impact on these recent engine problems. Then again it may have nothing to do with it, just a thaught.

You're right. It has nothing to do in the fact that they're automatics. Its just that most Solaras that are out and modded are 4-speed autos. 6psi and a good EMS is as much as you can go on stock internals 5spd or Auto.

Scott, you are going to need to have a leak down test performed to see why you are losing compression to figure out how to fix the issue. A compression check is like trying to find an oil leak with your dipstick.

Maybe we can putz with your car this weekend. You working? I might have some free time. Lemme know.

I haven't heard of anybody having compression issues with 5.5 or 6 psi, especially using 93 octane gas, if somebody has, please speak up.

We already know the knock sensor issued start with 5.5psi so maybe it's not even safe for long term reliability.
