well, i just spent 550 dollars on all of the parts i need to complete my turbo project. so i am slowly chizzling away at it. im doin this in my garage and i can so its a pain in the BUTT.
anyways here are some pics of the progress ive made lately.
keep in mind that this is my daily driver so i constantly have to stop in the middle and put it back together to drive it.

im actually using all of the pics from shidoshas project back in the day as a referance and puttin my own twist on it

all of the exhaust plumbing is gonna be stainless steel. thats one reason its been so expensive

TOTAL PRICE so far is about 2300$. That includes SAFCII, boost controller, 190lb fuel pump, 02 simulator (no cat with dats pipe that im bout to cut up), 45 inches of 4 ply silicone connector, 20 t clamps, 2 24" pieces of intake pipe, 4 90 degree elbows, 4 45 degree elbows, braided supply & return line, stainless flanges and adapters for turbo & regulator, regulator, BOV, and all of the Misc goodies

a mach up for the next step with the oil lines on. obviously need to make a few adjustments

Image
finally got the intercooler setup done

ooooh, looking good. I'm sure you can do something with that intake though...it looks suffocated...

good sh*t! glad to see the project coming along! How much boost you plannin on running? I figured the 5.8psi spring in a tial 38mm wastegate would pretty nice. Are you planning on changing the radiator fans? I noticed SHIDOSHA01 switched to aftermarket fans, but i'm not sure if it was to clear the piping or not. Whats the A/R on the turbine side? I always thought the 5 bolt t3's we're a lil small. Good luck! Can't wait to see it done. What kind of numbers are you going for? I need to hurry up and get back stateside so i can start mine

Looks good man nice to see another person kicking some ass with a solara.

Just a quick question how does it run with a NA setup and that intercooler and about 6 feet of intake pipe.

run

Postby NRDriver » Tue Dec 16, 2008 2:33 pm

good question. it doesnt have the kick that it used to have around 3k that it usually has. a little less torque is what it feels like on the top end. my long term and short term fuel trims are a bit lower though. 15.6 % with no adjustments from the safcII. they used to be quite higher. it drives just fine though. im taking it easy until i get the project done and dyno tuned though
