10.9 wideband reading after 4k rpm..

Postby Slut » Sun Apr 26, 2009 4:21 pm

As much as I turn down the AFC.. I cannot seem to it out any more then 10.9 after 4000 rpm, all it does is increase knock i believe. Before 4000 I can tune it to whatever I please no problems.. I have it tuned before to 11.3, I wanted to do it across at 11.3 but no matter what I try I cant seem to lean it out. Im running NA supra injectors and a walbro 190... 5.5psi i believe heh.

Thanks

BTW is there any way to reprogram the ecm to remove the speed limiter lol.

Check your safc settings. You should be able to trim the fuel down just fine to get the air/fuel you need. Something wrong with the safc for sure. You have the high throttle settings at -50% and it's still going into the 10's AFR?

what gabe said- there's something wrong with your safc settings.

back in the day when I had BIG tuning problems, it was because I had set up the safc wrong somehow....still not sure how, but in the end, I could still tune but not very well, and there were hiccups. One of those hiccups resulted in me blowing a knock sensor on a highway on-ramp and almost getting rear-ended by a car since my car went absolutely nowhere in safe mode and large injectors

ehh I got it down to 11.6 finally had to turn it down to like -20 at some spots... What do you normally tune a supercharged car to.. Safely... My turbo car I usually run a little rich like 11.2-11.1 to keep the egt's down but i assume there really isnt much if any heat issues with the supercharger.. What do you all run about?

yup...that sounds about right...even at 7psi I have some of mine at around -20 psi, but I also have the 255 and an external fpr with the pressure turned up a bit

as for the afr for our cars....it's up to you. what we don't have to worry about is boost spikes. but what we DO have to worry about though, is heat, since the roots-type supercharger produces a lot of heat with no way to intercool.

In the past, I've tuned mine to around 12.5 with no apparent ill effects, but then about a year later, I needed a new engine lol. I think that the heat may have fried my ringlands, etc etc. This time around, I'm shooting for closer to 12.1 or so once I get meth in to cool things down

Ok so explain this to me.. Just did a rebuild... 1400 miles on it.. broke it in without the supercharger bout 500 miles... Just fried or crack another ring land again in cylinder 4... scanner keeps coming up with that misfiring and plug is new and ive tried the other coils.. compression is 100 in it.. I rebuilt with stock pistons... First off where can I get aftermarket better pistons and rods.. Who should I call... Second you said about the boost spike.. explain why right when I hit redline my boost gauge is at 8psi... 5.5-6 basically throughout the rpm range thats what I figured I had I was told it was a 5.5 pulley but I didnt think they spike either but I do see it hit 8 psi.. Help me my best friend pussy heh... I need to know what to do..
