I'm putting one in this week (SC car). Question>>>

Can this mod pull CEL? I wouldn't think so...just checking.

P0116 – Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) circuit range/performance problem
· ECT sensor malfunction
· Cooling system problem

Thanks

I put one in a few weeks ago, and I haven't seen any code pop up thus far.
I read forums more than I talk. /shame

UPdate...

Just installed it and drove around in HOT weather here in LA...definitely brought the temp down and KEPT it down. Prior to the mod, I noted that my gauge was VERY steady at a point on the *thermometer logo* which I noted, so I could SEE the amount of drop on the gauge. It went from *3:00* to *3:30*. I was in stop and go traffic too. It did tend to rise after a while, but when I took it back up on the fwy, it dropped back. I would say the temps are down an average of 15 degrees. My fans are at the stock settings too.

One thing I noticed is that at a stop (after warm up), the car idles around 40 RPM lower! Any thoughts?

I've used one for about 3.5 years in my RX300 and never had an issue with it, no CELs or anything else. It can sometimes take up to a week of driving for everything to work itself out, but don't read too much into any one thing.

The only thing I really found out was a slight decline in the temperature gauge, generally stayed right in the middle or lower. I also use coolant additives (like WaterWetter, though now I am using Purple Ice) and have a Tom's Radiator Cap.
