I called Church up. Asked them about this *FLYWHEEL HP* stuff. They said it's *referenced to the hub*...ok..so I also mention that next to that it says...*SAE CORRECTED* . Know what that means? YEP..referenced to the flywheel! I mentioned that little tidbit and he replies..*well I don't know about that* :-? ..then goes on with something about being 30% (less?) from a Dyno Jet..blah ablah. Something doesn't square with their #s..at least as far as I'm concerned.

Ok..I talked with Church again  and here's what they told me:

The posted HP on the sheet is to the HUBS...even though it says FLYWHEEL HP SAE corrected on the top :-? . The person I talked to (sounded more *knowledgeable* this time around) said their #'s sit *basically* between measured WHEEL HP and FLYWHEEL HP. You don't lose as much measured HP as to the actual wheels, but more than to the flywheel. This makes sense to me. I'm going to schedule a run soon and I'll post the results here. I have previous dyno #s to the WHEELS with no mods made since, so it will be a good comparison test :D .

^ that sounds about right then. subtract about 10% and the numbers sit pretty good with the mods

but also though, when dynoing on a dynapack you have to SPECIFICALLY ask the operator of that SPECIFIC machine how it was calibrated, as they can change the calibration through the software.

I have talked to tony about his dyno and he said that he has his dynapacks calibrated to match the dynojets at the shops down the street from him since most people post dynojet numbers. But not all operators will do that for the sake of consistency for others. Some may calibrate theirs to be similar to a mustang dyno. who knows. the only way to know is by asking.

Good stepping up Ron.
