So I will be back home in November after my training and I will finally get my car back. I will be driving my car to my next base wherever that will be. I figured I may as well get everything set and good to go before a long drive and get it tuned and whatever else.

I was gonna drop my 330cc supra injectors. While I was down there, I may as well change out the knock sensors and spark plugs. I just ordered the gm sensors from gabe and I was gonna get those pulstars.

What else do you guys think I should do?

Nice list of mods you've got there. Be sure you give us your dyno results as soon as you can. Have fun tuning.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

I would assume so, but both of the setups are efficient. The Xerd headers are an insane design though, equal runners and what not. We will see what the power gains are when he goes and dynos.

UPDATE: Horrible Gas mileage

Postby 99V6solaraSE » Wed Oct 21, 2009 10:18 am

So Ive been away from home almost 2 years .. And havent driven my car really since then, except when home for christmas or whatever. I should be back home in November to bring it back with me to Texas.

So my family tells me that the gas mileage has been horrible. I dont really remember it being that bad. I noticed that with all the mods Im running, that it may have gone down a bit, but not as bad as what they make it seem. Im trying to diagnose the issue. and maybe finally getting a tune will help solve this.

The only CEL i get is the insufficient egr flow. HIs mechanic says that is probably the issue.. Could that be effecting it? Even after acquiring an auto egr, the CEL wont go away. So i dunno what it is exactly? I was thinking of replacing the egr valve and seeing if that works but theyre not really all that cheap. Like i said, i never really had an issue with gas when i drove it.

Im also changing the knock sensors. Maybe sensors going bad or detecting a lot of knock, could be affecting the gas mileage. Or a bad o2 sensor? I have an o2 simulator so im not really sure how that could effect it too.

You've got enough supporting mods to run 6psi aside from injectors, which is an easy swap.

I would fix your EGR problem and see how that helps your mileage problem. Since you have the correct pipe, the valve or temp sensor has to be shot. Unless your throwing CELs related to the knock or o2 sensors, I doubt those are inhibiting any gas mileage issues. The o2 sim is only for the sensor backstream of the cat, which shouldn't cut back on your fuel consumption. Mine wasn't effected when I threw that code.

thanks akora..

yea i still have 6psi i originally got when i bought the supercharger so i guess the only thing i have to swap out is the belt. Im wondering if itd still fit with the 5.5 belt.
