Return Fuel Line

Return Fuel Line

Postby Pogs » Thu Aug 13, 2009 8:57 am

At what point is a return fuel line necessary. I don’t think any of you with the supercharger have one, but as Gabe has said, if you use the m90 supercharger he’s building you will need to install one. Does anyone know how I would go about installing a return fuel line?

ASG14's got a stock return line setup.
As well as Eye8pussies.

A few others too.

the benifit would be to run a higher rated pump as the Walbro 255, and to have an actual adjustable FPR.

^^ So this would make for more reliable tuning on the a/f ratio? When is it a must that you absolutely need a return fuel line?

as far as I've seen on my car, the last time I was running it I was running only supra 330cc injectors but also with a custom return line fuel setup with aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. Even on 9 psi we had to dial back the fuel massively cause I was running pig rich.

Dont ask me the techy details about it, but it enables you to run ALOT more fuel. ( PM GregTRD or TRD4LIFE About details on it... they were the masterminds thats set up mine )

SO, getting back to pogs's question, it has nothing to do with reliable AFRs, just increased fuel amount?

Yeah... I did it to be able to run more fuel in anticipation for a more.....bosted setup.

On my current setup I am sure I could even run STOCK injectors with a return line!

no you can't run stock injectors on your setup just because you have a return line and an fpr

I've had that setup for many years now and it still leaned out bad with the stock injectors

as for what it does- it allows you to more effectively control your fuel pressure instead of either dumping too much fuel or too little fuel as dictated simply by your fuel pump

so if you have something like the emanage ultimate, would you be able to control your fuel much better with or without a return fuel line. I only ask all of this because I have a bunch of parts for my 5sfte project and i have been repeatedly told i need to run a return fuel line even though I will be running about 8psi on a wimpy ct26.

Think of it as a Jim's fuel mod to the Max.

BTW, Gabe and I may have a few more setups for sale in a few weeks. :)

Can you take a pic of the engine bay? Take ur engine cover off (the small plastic piece, then take a pic of the fuel rails and post them on here. easiest way.
