I missed that first set for the extremely rare Alternator Pivot Bolt, so I asked alltrac92 if we could make another one. We'd have to pay up front though, so we need at least 4 people willing to commit. I've already PM'ed some of the guys who expressed interest earlier, so I'm hoping we can all jump on this missed opportunity for sure this time around.

So far it's:

2. chaneytsai

Who's in?? If anything, a spare one of these is always nice to have! I can't stress enough how extremely hard these are to source, as I have tried locally to get them made.

I sent an email to my contact as the shipping price has changed again. I'm going to see if I can get the lower price. Lets leave the list open for a couple of more days because the more bolts ordered will spread the shipping cost.

The price last time around was $30 and RON was the only one to step up to the plate.

RON wrote:Ok..great. I think EVERYONE with an SC should have this bolt as a spare..it's a NO BRAINER. You can't GET these, especially this quality (read..no stripping)..... $40..whatever, is CHUMP CHANGE for this *insurance*. Anyone reading this with an SC should place an order. Once these are gone..good luck.

I ordered a few extra just in case and they all sold. The bad news is they raised their DHL prices and with only 4 people the price is gone up to a point that's not even worth mentioning. They are charging a flat rate from 1-500 grams. If we get 10 bolts ordered it would be $35 a piece. Until they get a new cheaper shipping option or we get enough people willing to pay $35 this will go on the back burner.

haha, well I actually didn't say i was gonna collect the money. i was waiting for alltrac to chime in on this, which he did, and if not i was gonna just refer everyone to his paypal address. don't let the name fool ya :)

Exactly. You can't get ANY replacement bolt right now....not at ANY PRICE!
Those with an SC who don't have a spare are rolling the dice with the stock bolt....and if their's is STRIPPED ALREADY, you're flat out screwed if your alternator goes. I've been taking off the DOG BONE to replace the belt (my bolt is stripped) and it's a bitch. Luckily, my alternator has hung in there. I have the ORIGINAL TRD bolt as a spare and I still went for this one. I'm going to have someone remove the stripped bolt I have on now and replace it with this bolt (just got it).

just so you know (you probably do already) REMOVING A STRIPPED BOLT IS A BITCH.

but, it's do-able. Vik (Dawgz) and Adam grinded their bolt out, another member used an air chisel, and I took mine out with a simple Dremel. I didn't even need to cut the spacer as I thought I would have--i just cut away at the head bit by bit.

AND..if you don't have a REPLACEMENT bolt for the one you just cut off?
I guess you could put in a stock bolt in and shave down the head...but then you'll have a problem there too.
