I was told the Apexi RSM would be able to do this.

The Governor is meant to control the over speed which is out of control than its ultimate operating conditions, one can adjust the speed limit of the governors but should not completely remove from the turbo for safe operation.

Most folks stop at about 130. I don't know
about the exact governed speed though.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

I believe the governed speed limit is 135mph on the gen 1/1.5 solara.

Personally, even if it's 135, there would be NO REASON to need *more*. I can't think of ONE instance where plus 130 would be *required* or even *desired* for that matter. You certainly won't be going over that on any racetrack. The fastest I got on the Willow Big Track with my 944 Turbo was around 125+ on the front straight. Most other tracks have lower terminal speeds. I think it would be a lot better if I could get a tad more RPMS..say to 6700 instead if the 6400 cut off I get with the rev limiter.
BTW that speedomter in my SIG below is pegged at 158+ in my 944T. The #s on the face read in 20MPH increments from 20-160 with *80* straight up. That was on a desert road and was VERY DICY. I was pretty reckless to do it in the first place..let alone have someone IN THE BACK SEAT take that pick :o In a word..STUPID. Well, at least I got the pic anyway. :drinking:

The limiter is set for 120mph, i would like to be able to do at least 140mph. There are a couple straights around my area where you can really get into it, and my cousins car doesnt max out till 140, so I kinda get left behind.

Ok..whatever...BUT.. you better have that car in *TITS* condition...at those speeds air under your car is the ENEMY. If the road isn't picked PERFECTLY, ANY imperfections will be a disaster. BTW, I hit a BIRD going around 120 in a *test* run and it almost destroyed my windshield!
I ran La Carrea classic in Mexico back in 1988. It was almost 100 miles flat out. I passed a guy who was killed on his motorcycle and saw my buddy go off a cliff in that race (he lived)....two guys died crashing their cars there in later years. Our club ran a 100 Mi race out of Eli Nevada and I decided to *pass*. One guy in a Ferarri died going 140 plus on a straight. His family wound up suing Yokohama Tire..(yeah...right  )
