EGR valve - Insufficient egr flow

EGR valve - Insufficient egr flow

Postby 99V6solaraSE » Fri Nov 20, 2009 9:55 am

So when i put on the supercharger, i just modified my stock egr pipe initially to fit. I initially thought that was the reason for my CEL for insufficient egr flow since one end was kinda pinched off where i bended it to make it fit. I eventually found an auto egr pipe and the CEL still came back. The car idled really low too and started to shake every time i was at a stop on D so i always popped the car into neutral.

Now I just replaced the entire egr valve after buying one for 160$ and it still came back. The idle is back to normal though.
In fact in the process, I must've done something else cuz I also have the "system too lean - bank 1" code.

Sensor on top likely bad. It;s common. Dawgs had to replace his, so I pulled one from the junkyard.

i replaced that first.. and i still got the egr light.. so thats why i ended up replacing the whole egr valve and still have the same issue.

Well, the only thing left is the VSV I think. That, and the vacuum lines.

It takes SEVERAL drive cycles to reset the code. A *DRIVE CYCLE* is starting the car from COLD. Try this first. There are also temp and position sensors. May have to replace those if light won't reset.
