Tuning with 330CC or bigger injectors....

For those of you who have installed the 330CC injectors or bigger and are using the SAFCII / NEO to tune, how did you run your base dyno run?

Did you run with the safcII pulling 20% all across the bands? or just run it with the safcII initialized (reset with no modifcation at all)?

Let me know! 8)

My first run was with the SAFC2 initialized, but we didn't go WOT.

+10 across the boards for the first run

I ran +20 across the board, it was pig rich the first run but I felt safe. With the supra maf, it took about 6-7 runs to get the a/f ratio dialed in to 12-12.5 to 1. We had to run some crazy in/out settings to get everything to mesh, but that was due to the supra maf.

IN/OUT settings according to the SAFC are the same for the 1mz and the 2jz-gte, i confirmed that during street tuning. If i remember right it was 13/13

I think all the ppl in the plus' are using the supra MAF. I'm around -20 for high throttle.

this should be a locked thread and a post it on top.

RPMS SAFC

3400 -5
4000 -8
4400 -12
4800 -16
5200 -19
5600 -20
6000 -20
6400 -20

This is what i am currently at and my top end above 4800 still isn't quite in the 12-12.5 range that i'm trying to get. hope that gives u an idea

correct, the larger supra MAF will initially lean out the fuel supply (at 1000 rpm, I am at +5%), but as the throttle position increases, you will need to pull fuel away, since the larger MAF is already telling the ecu to dump more fuel to compensate for the added air being brought in. (up to -10% at some rpms). with an oem solara MAF and bigger injectors, a +5 or +10 initial run should be safe, as you should initially run much richer than us with supra maf.

I hope you got the PMs I sent. Anyway, good luck today at Robs. If you could, please print out a copy of the ECU pin out and have him check if the JDM Emanage harness is a plug and play for our cars. Thanks.
