the stock bottom end is good to about 350-375 hp, the pistons ?, im hoping they'll take my 304 hp, but just have to wait and see, time will tell, and i dont think meth is enough when running 93 or under octane............. :drinking: .................

...still really enjoying this thread, guys! Very interesting details and varied information in here. Definitely keep this populated with any new input for those who are seeking this type of real-world experience. One of the most interesting things to me is how fine the line between durability and failure the 'lara parts and set-up seem to indicate! I suspect vehicles such as my supra have a broader margin for error DESPITE their finicky reputation... at least in terms of pure boost increase as a ratio over "stock"... although OTHER elements are the "glass jaw" of the straight six! (Can you say BHG???!!!)

Thanks for the educational input, guys.

Here's my story. Just got my car dynoed on Friday and the car is running great. I noticed better boost response and acceleration from proper tuning with the SAFC II. I'm currently at 5.5 psi with all the mods that I listed earlier in this thread. Still on stock fuel injectors with 91 octane pump gas. The dyno graph shows 11.5:1 A/F ratio from 4000 to 5500 rpm. After 5500 rpm to redline the stock injectors are maxed out so the engine leans out to 12.5:1, which is not ridiculously lean in my opinion. Plus I rarely ever hit the redline while daily driving so I'm not too worried about messing anything up. Eventually I'll get the Supra injectors but for now I'm on the GB for the meth kit.

Went back and looked at my old dyno sheets, no dates unfortunately. To the best of my memory I have been pushing 295whp since '04 or '05 on stock internals. Don't let them detonate and they will live. Mine is tuned to 12.5/1 with race gas mixed in for ~95.5 octane or 50/50 race to pump. When I ran 5.5psi I mixed 1 part race to 2 parts pump.

EricSol you put the nail in the coffin. 5.5 psi on 91 octane with an SAFC is a ticking time bomb, especially if you running larger injectors and pulling a lot of fuel on your High throttle map on the SAFC, as that is inadvertently advancing timing.

Well let me update you guys on my 5.5psi on 91 pump gas. Still no problems and the car runs strong. I recently had Greg install my Meth kit and will post dyno #'s when i get it tuned. I've been talking to a lot of guys that are running 6psi on pump and have had ZERO problems and they abuse the crap out of there cars. So maybe it all depends on how your motor was built out of the factory, or how it was broken in. Nun the less, I feel much more confident with my Meth installed for sure. Btw my SC is ice cold after WOT runs. But thats another thread.
