Ok, so I've done some reading and am looking for some more info on tuning options for our cars. I know about the safc, and piggy back set-ups. Are our cars tunable like say a LS1 camaro, etc?

Or does anybody know of a true tuning source. I'm not looking to tune just yet, but when I do it would be nice to atleast know the best option.

easiest an most effective for our cars is the split second FTC piggyback. Out ECU's cannot be flashed or rechipped like other cars.

safc is probably easiest and most common, i have 2 for sale too :)

safc2 and the 1st gen, send me a pm if ur interested. im selling one or the other, not both.

AEM FIC, but you'll probably get a CEL. I get 3..random misfire and #3 and 5 cyl misfire..but its not, and it's wired correctly. You can't hook up the cam sensor wire and the crank sensor. IIRC I have the cam sensor wires only. I got a topic somewhere about it

If you use a the 2.2k resistor method, you get now misfires and no cel's. Go on the aem forum and do a search for it you can find some good instructions on how to do it. I have it and have no problems.

A piggy-back setup will work fine for what I'm running on now. But, one day I'd like to have a built motor in the car and most likely a turbo setup. I was just thinking that we should have some more options for our cars! :-?

I'll have to check that out. I asked there and none answered, but i think I remember seeing something about using resistors

Hey Eye8 and EEngineer,

Greddy shows two different harnesses for the 1MZ. Did you guys use the one with the T20 or T23 connector. Or do you need both?

EEngineer, I know you have the 3vz. Are you using a 1MZ harness?

^there's an universal harness for the e-manage ultimate. just have to do some custom wiring.

^i don't think so, afterall it's an piggyback and it uses the stock ecu to drive the signals, emanage just modifies the signals.

but i can confirm that with tony and see if he got ways to cheat around it lol

The emanage ultimate has a rev limiter bypass feature which works well on the nissans, but your right i don't think we can use that feature on the toyota ecu.
