UPDATE: 1MZ-FE Magnuson MP90 Supercharger Prototype

Postby trd4life » Sun Oct 10, 2010 7:13 pm

Almost done guys. 2 years later :). For those that haven't heard about this, it's a custom blower kit for the 1mz-fe v6 , similar to the TRD S/C setup but utilizing a larger, more efficient Magnuson MP90 4th generation supercharger. 300whp should be achievable at low boost on this blower with a much larger s/c pulley than with the TRD. For example, a 7psi pulley on the MP90 will be 4.0", versus the TRD M62 S/C, which a 7psi pulley would be 2.6". Discharge temps will be substantially lower than the TRD blower resulting in more HP. More volume per revolution on this MP90 will also give us some nice gains! Waiting on a batch of shorter nose drives to show up any day now from Magnuson so I can dyno this bad boy and see what we can pump out for #'s. I plan on having 4-5 complete production kits ready to sell in time for Christmas. If the demand is there for intercooled kits I can make an intercooled setup for you as well. Pricing for the complete non-intercooled kits will be in the $3500-$3800 range, if you want an air/water intercooler core added to your setup, pricing for intercooled kits will be in the $4500 range. Intercooled kits at big boost will be able to produce close to 500whp on a 1mz-fe at 18-20psi ( forged internals and other engine internals required for BIG boost). The base non-intercooled kit will come with a 5-5.5psi pulley, although I'll include any size pulley you want as long as you know ahead of time what you are getting yourself into and you know what other supporting parts you will need in order to run safely. Fuel system upgrades and a piggyback or standalone computer to tune this setup will be required. These items are not included in the kit but I can supply whatever other components you may be looking for. At a minimum, a Walbro fuel pump, Jims fuel mod or return style fuel system, N/A Supra fuel injectors, an Apexi SAFC or even better, a Split Second FTC will be required. And last but not least, a hood scoop will be required because the blower sticks out of the hood about an inch. This kit is designed for offroad use only. No, you will not pass smog or CARB cert. with this kit. As an added bonus for the first 5 orders placed, you'll receive a FREE Walbro 255hp fuel pump and a set of the 94-96 1mz-fe return style fuel rails! I'll be in touch guys thanks for your patience.

-Gabe

Good luck! post pics, vids and everything when it comes to dyno time! would love to see that thing pump 400 easy and to hear it whine HARD CORE!!!

i think a hood scoop might not be so bad on the camrys, and on the solara if its a full aftermarket hood and not an add on scoop.

prices arnt bad either! :)

I'm pushing to make this kit better than the TRD. Not only is the blower much bigger, you get the two boost ports instead of one, you get the TRd4life Quick change s/c pulley setup (no more people bashing their s/c pulley with a hammer to get it off LOL)

only by using a bigger blower you made it better than the trd kit imo! the rest is just added awesomeness lol

tony should use this kit on his twin charged camry instead on the trd m62 :)
