After some long thinking, I have finally made up my mind in getting a turbo kit for my 2az Solara.

The kit that I am looking for is the Dezod S1 kit for automatic Scion TCs:

Here is what is included in the kit:

http://www.dezod.com/pd-scion_tc_turbo.cfm

S1 component list

Genuine Garrett T3/T04E 57 trim turbocharger
Stainless steel braided -4 AN oil feed line
Stainless steel braided machine crimped -10AN oil return line
CNC insta-tap Oil Pan System (no welding required)
Stainless steel TIG welded turbo manifold (1/2” thick head flange)
Synapse Synchronic 40mm wastegate (multiple boost level capable)
Stainless steel 2.5” downpipe and s-pipe with recirculated dump tube (bolts to stock exhaust or aftermarket)
Synapse Synchronic blow off valve
Front mount intercooler 26”x 6.5” x 3.5”
Mandrel bent, light weight, SFP Technology aluminum intercooler pipes
2.5” aluminum intake system with DSS Technology MAF housing
AEM dry flow filter
4 ply silicone couplers
T-bolt clamps
Turbo install kit
CNC vacuum manifold (for a cleaner install)
Plug-N-Play fuel injectors (no cutting or splicing)
AEM Fuel & Ignition Controller (AEM FIC) w/ Base Calibration
Custom wiring harness for the AEM FIC (no cutting or splicing required)

If I get this Turbo kit with the automatic option, the cost of the turbo kit alone will be just over $4000. I will also be getting some more additional parts but my question relates to the cost of labor:

Am I looking at around $2,000 to $3,000 USD on labor costs of getting the turbo kit that was made originally for the Scion TC to fit in my car? I know Tacti had some intercooler pipes fabricated and did a lot of tuning on the dyno, I know the fabrication and the dyno tune will be the majority of the labor costs.

Thanks for your time and response! I have been dreaming about being the 2nd guy on SG to have a turbo Gen II, not going for bragging rights, I just want the lara to have more power for the drag strip.

I don't have an answer, and the only guy who I know/trust for that kinda install is Mike Kojima, and he's here on the west coast. Maybe try shooting him an email? He just installed a TRD SC in his tundra last week.

I just got a message from Tacti on facebook about his past Gen II turbo project, he suggests that I should go standalone instead of a piggy back ecu, it will cost more but less work involved.

This is going to be interesting haha.

^^3500? Yeah thats like the minimum of what it will probably cost, but I would be spending less on tuning if I go with standalone instead of piggyback.
