I would definitely buy one of his kits but college, a girlfriend and gas prices created a black hole for my wallet. That and living in California with the worlds most retarded emissions laws. I'm assuming this kit hasn't and will never be approved by CARB, there is no legal way I can use it on my car since it's my daily. But I'm still hoping this kit is still around in about 5 years as I plan on getting another Camry or Solara to use as a dedicated track car.

I really don't have time to be doing this so nor do i have any interest in discussing this, but i feel it may be needed so i will try to keep this short and to the point just to show everyone what i am talking about. Let me also say i do not have a patent on this so technically anyone can copy my design and there is nothing i can really do about it legally. But thats really not how this forum works people dont copy peoples stuff. At least i have never really seen it on any of the toyota boards i have been on for over a decade. Simon Lemegacool, first off i very much appreciate all the business you have brought to GLP motorsports. You didn't tell me when you started this s/c project is was going to be built almost the same exact way incorporating all the techniques i used. lol. that's just being honest, the way i feel about it. If anyone disagrees with me that fine too. In fact you recently told me it wasnt going to look anything like the GLP kit. Just check out the pics you can't even really tell which kit is which IMO. Your blower is mounted in the same spot, you reused the OEM runners and tb inlet, you made the jig the same way to take measurements, the S/C manifold flange you made is an exact copy. Here's 4 other easy ways you could have built the kit so it wasn't a near replica of the GLP kit. To me its like whatever, whats done is done ,it is what it is, go ahead and finish your project . Just please don't give all these members the impression that this is some spectacular creative one off custom made kit you made up in your mind one day, when in fact it appears its built off of a bunch of pictures of mine i posted 2 years ago that you found online using a google search.

I don't think Lemegacool actually copied you on purpose. You might have inspired him and he didn't gave you enough credits. I don't think he never intended to buy a kit neither, so it doesn't affect your business that much. I'm sure you will sell the MP90 s/c's sooner or later!

On the other hand, I "copied" Toy1mz's idea about the CL front lip and gave him props at least three times. I don't think there's something wrong on "copying" something but then again, it's a 150$ lip not a 4k S/C.

Anyways, good luck to you and thanks for your contribution for our unpopular community.

. its really stinks that i spend close to $20k on r&d, concept, research, testing, dyno, share all the info and pics with the community, to have someone appear to build a near replica for pennies on the dollar. Maybe everybody that wants to go boost on here should just take my pics and info bring them to their machine shop and say "hey can you build me something like this company has"

Easy now, Gabe. Not everyone on here has that ability, nor would be intuitive enough to get that much from just photos and random specs spouted off online. Keep doing you, the R&D should prove superior in the end.

I think that there is alot of similarities between the 2 kits. It's just my opinion but I would say gabe got a little ripped off here. I am a journeyman welder and machinist who ownes a welding/ machining company and shop. Quite frankly, if I wanted to take a good look at gabes work and then do it myself, I could have. There is nothing stopping me legally. But there is no way I would have ever done it. Gabe ownes a small company with a very niche clientel. If he has to close his doors because every car nut with a lathe starts building there own kits based off his ideas, it would greatly hamper anyone in north America who is serious about turning a car that was originally designed to get baby boomers groceries into a respectable machine. Now that being said one kit isn't going to put GLP out of business nor is this guy trying to sell his kit. But I do know that if you were to replicate a greddy or stillen kit and plaster pics all over the net of it, you would have 15 lawyers so far up your rear end that they would actually be able to see the poutine you had for breakfast. Finish the kit, make the car go fast, but at least admit that someone else had this idea way before you stumbled on to it in-between a g20 summit protest cop car burning session and a bloc québécois seperation rally.

Not necesarily, a lot of company's do replicas of major companies idea's. Like Godspeed, even on their website they announce their bov's turbos etc as a replica of hks, greddy blah blah blah, they even display the hks logo or the greddy logo. So idk if thats really true, but anyways both kits look similar but if hes not trying to fabricate more to sell then it shouldnt be much of an issue, i personally wouldnt have done it but thats just me.

thanks for you input guys. i'll contiue to pioneer parts. I have so much on my plate right now. I am bummed out. There are other people on the forums working on m90 kits too. Once i notified everyone that the trd kit was an mp62 and that an mp90 would be a much better match hence the reason im using the mp90 blower for my kit, now people want to build their own mp90 kits. Why buy a $3800 kit from gabe when you can take his ideas and pics and make you own kit in your garage for a 1/4 of the price. The idea and a couple pictures is all you really need. I mean you can pick up a m90 for $150 all day long. I just want to make my ideas a reality and continue to bring new custom products to the table for everyone.
