Blower temps?

Anyone ever drilled and tapped passenger side of the s/c...or used the boost port for a temperature sensor? I'm curious to see how hot the air is coming out of the blower normally vs meth/water injection or even how much its being heated compared to what my obd2 scanner is showing for inlet temps. But I really don't want to remove it to do that. I could just use the other side, but then I couldn't activate the meth injection.

i was seeing as high as 230F without meth at ten lbs and 150F with the dual nozzle setup at the same boost. meth kit drops temps for me 80f :)

Dam 230? Thats some hot air. An 80* drop isn't bad at all. I was stuck in stop and go traffic a few days ago and my obd2 scanner was showing 150 intake temps (high 80s ambient temp, not sure what the humidty was) but it took forever to cool and get back down to around 115. I haven't checked to see how cool it is at night.

Jezz 80 is a nice drop! That's with the 6xx and the 3xx inlets in the charger and throttle
Body? (sorry I forget the specific size of the nozzles) eve. In just stop and go traffic 150 on the intake I'd guess youd be looking at ~200 in the charger seeing as it's black and absorbs heat, and it's compressing the air and creates heat anyways. Are you running Meth? Or thinking of running Meth?

And no I don't have an answer for your boost port question. It's a good idea though, someone should try...

I'm using meth/water. I tuned it to run richer (11.5 to 12) than most people do at WOT because of the crap gas (91 on base) and ridiculous expensive off base (93ish octane) and then added the meth/water on top of that, mostly for cooling. I read that the afr would read 1 point lower when using meth, but I didn't see a difference between meth/water, straight water and nothing at all, so I switched to pure water a while back. Now that its hotter, I'm back to using w/w fluid for the extra octane. I'm trying to find some pure methanol to mix my own, but I don't think they know what the hell it is over here. They only sell concentrated w/w fluid off base and a lot of it has antifreeze in it, so I gotta shop around. w/w fluid on base sells faster than they can stock it...which isn't very often.

While intake temps before the blower do play a small role, the temp you need to be concerned about is the post blower temps after the air comes out of the charger. PLX sells a nice IAT gauge setup.
