My 400+whp Build Thread

Well, this has been in the works for at least 6 months now, but it's getting close enough to swap time to start posting details of it up here for people to see. Cost and availability of parts was a big deciding factor on what direction to go with my build. I had a rare opportunity to buy a built engine, and a turbo kit for a very reasonable price and I figured I'd probably never have this good of an opportunity to build a 400+whp car on such a small budget so I jumped on it. in addition, with Gabe's invaluable help, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Drivetrain:
Akora's 3.1L 1MZ-FE engine. This engine block is built and should handle up to 600whp. Heads are pretty much stock.
MR2 Turbo LSD transmission
TRD Blower at 4psi
Turbo GT35R at 10psi. Water intercooler, all custom piping.
Methanol injection at 625ml
Greddy Emanage Ultimate for tuning
Return style fuel system
ACT Clutch
Okada Plasma Booster
Custom reinforced axles
Some fat injectors
External fuel pump

Parts at the bottom in italics are stuff I still need to get.

Well I think that covers most of the build. I'm shooting for 400+ whp. I'm working on upgrading brakes and suspension too. Once I've completed all the suspension and brake upgrades I want to do I'll eventually raise boost higher and shoot for 500whp.

Pretty excessive power for a FWD sedan I know haha. But it's all about having fun, going fast, and being different.

Three, in fact! Bob (Camrtm3?? I cant remember his SN) is also working on a turbo build on his Gen 3 Camry. His plans are fairly similar to mine in fact. But I was the first one planning to go twincharged :D

Bob is also in Baltimore too. I had tried to get u to join us for the CPT meet in April bud! You should join us on our next meet.

I dont think so i think this was actually called the black ninja or something like that akora built it. Or maybe Gabe sold him the red knights block and he named it the black ninja. I dont know lol

Yeah this is the same block that was called the Black Ninja and before that it was the Red Knight. I will be the fourth owner of the built engine lol. Gabe was the first, and now it's back in Maine with him yet again haha. I've always found that amusing.

Here's the thread for the "Black Ninja" that Akora posted:
