HID Color Temp Chart

HID Color Temp Chart

Postby PXLpainter » Wed Apr 23, 2008 4:34 pm

Here's a quick reference chart for approximate HID color temps... obviously provided by a manufacturer, but fairly accurate.

It does show that 5000k is the brightest of all, as it is in reality!

haah awesome. I have 55 watt 5000k in both headlights and fogs, lmao...

I think this should be a sticky, so the new guys who join or those that don't know bout this stuff can get easy reference to it..
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

Jeff - it's been a sticky all along. ;)

I have been wanting to get this info for a long time myself, so after some research time today I finally found enough info to put it all together in one place and assemble the chart so it's easier to read than the big full-page POS they had originally.

According to this chart and other info I've read though, the McCullochs that I got from an old SG member here that were supposed to be 6500K are more like 12500K or higher, because they are more purple than blue or aqua - which means my output must really suck in comparison! I can't wait to replace them with 5800Ks some day.
