interior lights?

Postby Joseph K » Mon Sep 07, 2009 1:00 pm

Hey guys. My girl has a 2007 convertible solara. I'm going to replace all the interior lights and stuff with purple led's. I was wondering what the map lights were? I looked on sylvania and it said 168 or something, but I looked at them and they were two bayonet base bulbs with round housings??? I know the rest of them (license plate, trunk, and rear courtesy light) are all 194's, but I'm not sure on the map lights... Can anyone help me here? Thanks a ton

Check out the sticky thread

Map light
168

I've replaced mine awhile ago with some brighter ones, my memory doesn't serve me well, but I remember they came from Advance Auto Parts.

Good luck with your project and keep us posted with pics.

Yes, they're the ones above the rear view. Her's is a convertible, so it has no dome light. But I looked at them, and it's a round housing with what looks like a boyonet base, so I don't have a clue what kind of led bulb to order for them? Because they don't look like regular 168/194 bulbs...

i bought a dome light off ebay and it came with 3 adapters... so you can basically stick it anywhere.

and replacing 1 bulb with 1 led is not such a good idea... the light output will be lower... you might want to buy one with as much leds in it as you can fit in your housing

my dome light is a 40 white leds matrix... bright as hell

What do you mean by the 3 adapters?... yea I've learned this lol. Single led bulbs are not bright at all

If anyone that has a CONVERTIBLE gen 2.5 solara could go look at their's and let me know, that'd help me a ton lol. Thanks

..where did you find purple lights.... I swapped all the lights in the gf's 2000 camry with pink leds. Couldnt find pink leds so had to buy white ones, red and white translucent paint, mix the paints together and paint multiple coats on the leds. very time consuming but turned out good.. i guess. :-?

Or you can take out the existing lights you have now and go to your auto store and compare the ones they have there.
